Florida Lactation Consultant Job

We are expanding! We are looking for new team members passionate about forming supportive, ongoing relationships with families to help them meet their feeding goals for their baby.

Thrive Lactation Center is taking lactation education to the next level by offering individual in-home and virtual consults to families with the goal of building lasting supportive relationships to help moms meet their feeding goals. We have created a better way of doing business that prioritizes our patient, our community, and our team of consultants. We believe in supporting and empowering lactation consultants to improve patient care and professional development. We also prioritize family life by offering flexible schedules and hours.

LOCATION: Remote, must live in Florida

POSITION TYPE: flexible, contractor

APPLICATION REQUIREMENT

-Must live in Florida

-Must be a registered nurse licensed in the state of Florida or through the compact

-Must be an already certified International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)

-Candidates will only be considered if they have submitted a video with their application. The video should be two (2) minutes of the candidate teaching a breastfeeding technique or topic. The intended audience for the video should be pregnant or postpartum moms.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Within Thrive Lactation Center, we serve families in a variety of areas within Florida. We are looking to expand to new areas.

  • Our team cares for breastfeeding mothers and infants in an individual setting or the motehrs home

  • Our patients are expecting mothers who plan to breastfeed and postpartum mothers who are breastfeeding.

  • Our team provides ongoing support throughout a mothers breastfeeding journey

  • Our team builds community by connecting with other local providers

YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete 60-90 minute lactation consult

  • Charts visits and maintains accurate records according to payor requirements, per provided charting system and format.

  • Supports and advocates for the normal physiologic functions involved in the maternal-infant process.

  • Provides evidence-based clinical information following the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine Protocols.

  • Enhances professional development by participating in lactation courses, workshops and exams and keeping apprised of current lactation literature

  • Maintains certifications and/or licenses.

  • Maintains HIPAA confidentiality.

  • Employee has an individual responsibility for knowledge of and compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Lactation IBCLC certification

  • RN license in Florida or an accepted compact license

  • A computer with steady internet access

  • Functional vehicle to provide own transportation to patient homes

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

        2-3 years experience working as a lactation consultant inpatient or outpatient

PAY: variable, contractor 1099 model
flat $ rate per appointment type
